What "free" actually means here
The Hungarian test itself, all 25 adaptive questions and your CEFR result, is free with no account required. You only pay if you decide you want a downloadable PDF certificate afterward, which costs €8 (incl. EU VAT). Nothing forces that purchase; plenty of people take the test purely to check their level and never buy the certificate.
How this compares to other free tests
EF SET and Duolingo's placement test are also free and give a rough level estimate, but neither issues a downloadable certificate with employer verification. Examinizer's free test gives the same instant CEFR result, and if you later want proof for a CV or LinkedIn profile, the certificate option is there without retaking anything.
A free test does not mean a low-quality one. The question bank and adaptive engine are identical whether or not you buy the certificate afterward, so your result is just as accurate either way.

Most people finish in 15 to 25 minutes. The AI-adaptive format means the test ends as soon as it has an accurate read on your level.
